THE WALKING DEAD Comic To Tv: Lost In Translation

Now I really enjoyed the first season of  AMC’s “The Walking Dead” (Starring Andrew Lincoln, Jon Bernthal,

Sarah Wayne Callies, Norman Reedus and Laurie Holden) but have had some issues with the second series. This may be due to the gang spending 7 episodes looking for a girl who was clearly going to have been turned into a Zombie (and kind of brought it on herself by going for a wander not once but twice after Rick told her to stay the fuck where she was!)

I think though, my enjoyment is limited by having read the Image published comics (written by Robert Kirkman and illistrated by Tony Moore, for the frst 6 issues,  and then by Charlie Adlard) and always second guessing everything that is happening based on what I know is coming according to the comics. I finally realised what it was that was bothering me. This may not be issues that’ll concern you if you haven’t read the comic but for fans who have and are sometimes left underwhelmed by the show, here’s a list of reasons the show isn’t going to be exactly what we thought it should be:

Before I start I should point out that I only got to issue 60 in the comics before the poor distribution of comics in Ireland let me down and I missed out on a number of issues. By the time I got my hands on them again, I didn’t want to read stories that I’d no context for and so have to wait for the trade paper backs. I’m mainly writing this because some of the things mentioned here might have been resolved since then so I ask any readers of the later comics to bear with me.
